When calcium deficiency cannot be compensated by limiting the excretion then osteoporosis occurs . osteoporosis is not a common phenomenon and can be easily avoided by calcium rich food intake.

There are few groups that are prone to osteoporosis they are : Post menopausal women , children , pregnant women , post menopausal women. The main danger of osteoporosis is that bones become more liable to fracture. calcium rich items are eggs meat , milk and green leafy vegetables. Excess use of calcium tablets may result in hypercalcemia.
